The visit of historic Cairo will be an opportunity for you to see many monuments built over the centuries.

El Moez Street
Rue Al Moez, le Caire

Located in the El Azhar district in the heart of Islamic Cairo.

Bears the name of the founder of the Fatimid dynasty "El Moez Ledin Allah".

Considered one of the most important tourist, archaeological and Islamic sites in the world.

Mosques, Koranic schools, Sabiles, wikalas (center of commerce) and mausoleums.

You will be amazed by the refinement and the grandeur of these constructions which fit perfectly into the town planning of Old Cairo.

The Mosque of El-Azhar.
Mosquee d'Al Azhar

It is the first mosque in Fatimid Cairo.

Built between the year 970 and 972 by Jawhar El-Sikilli (the Sicilian), army commander of Caliph El-Moez Iedin-Allah to serve as both a mosque and a madrassa (school).

It owes its name to Fatma El Zahraa, daughter of the prophet.

This mosque is also home to one of the oldest Islamic universities.

The first lecture was given in 975 AD. JC

It is characterized by its three minarets of different shapes, decorated with carved jagged stones, a prayer hall paved with marble and porticoes with arcades.

It now houses al-Azhar University (center for Islamic studies).

Beit Zeinab Khatun
Beit Zeinab Khatoun, le Caire

built in the 15th century with breathtaking wooden decorations on its ceilings.

It is a true symbol of this Islamic architecture.

Beit Abdul Rahman al-Harrawi
Beit Abd Al Rahman Al Hawari

built in the 18th century. As you progress through the meanders of the rooms and the stairs, you can imagine the atmosphere of the time rocked by the sound of the Oud.

This house is now a music school.

Beit Sitt Wasila was recently restored, beautiful and resplendent.

The Khân al-Khalili
Souk Khan Al Khalili, le Caire

You cannot leave Cairo without going for a walk in one of the most famous souks.

The Khân al-Khalili: It was created at the instigation of Prince Sharkess Al Khalili at the end of the 14th century - hence its name.

It brings together many workshops of various craftsmen, goldsmiths and all kinds of businesses.

You can shop there, clothes, spices and souvenirs.

Rest in one of the many cafes, the most famous of which is Cafe el-Fishawi or Cafe des Miroirs.

He was frequented by the Nobel Prize winning writer Naguib Mahfouz, one of the most famous Egyptian authors.
