Day 1:

the Roman Catacombs

These Catacombs date from the 2nd Century AD, carved on 3 levels in the rock, they are the largest tombs of the Roman era.

They were initially made for a family but, over the years, will be enlarged and occupied by several families.

Mixture of Egyptian and Greco-Roman art, their decorations and structures make these catacombs one of a kind.

Pompey's column and the serepeum

Proudly dominating Alexandria since the 3rd century, this column of red granite stands at the top of its 26m in the middle of the serapeum built to the glory of the Emperor Diocletian. The Serapeum is a temple dedicated to the god Apis, the bull.

The Roman Amphitheater

This Amphitheater, dating from the 2nd century, could accommodate 800 people within its 13 semi-circular white marble steps.

These mosaics on the floor, these green marble and red granite columns make this unique Roman theater in Egypt, a must-see place to visit. You can also have an acoustic experience that will amaze you.

Around this amphitheater and dating from the same period, you can see the remains of thermal baths and Roman houses.

Qaitbay fort

This fort built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay in the 15th century in a medieval style and typical of the military architecture of this Mamluk period.

It is located at the site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria at the northern end of the entrance to the Eastern Harbor.

You will reach it by a passage made in the granite of Aswan.

This fortress, which houses a mosque, offers a magnificent panorama of the city and the Mediterranean.

The mosque of Abu El Abbas El Morsi
Mosquee Abou Al Abbas Alexandrie

Inspired by Andalusian and Arab art, this mosque was built in 1927.

Its immense minaret and its four domes make it the largest mosque in Alexandria.

It is near the fort of Qaitbay.

Walk to visit the city center of Alexandria. Look at the traditional markets, the local architecture features Baroque style motifs and Italian and French style properties.
Continue your tour passing through the oldest Souk in Mansheya and discover the traditional women's markets (zan'et elsetat) with very narrow streets. There is also the Gold Market where they buy engagement and wedding jewelry.

Day 2:

Montazah Palace and Gardens

The gardens of Montazah include several buildings.

The first palace, Salamlek, was started in 1892 by King Abbas II, then in 1932, King Fouad I had an even larger palace, Haramlik, made. Until 1952, the property will belong to the royal family Mohamed Ali.

Today it is a very popular place for walking, consisting of magnificent gardens over an area of 155 hectares and offering a magnificent view of the bay of Alexandria.

The Library of Alexandria
