Saqqara

The largest necropolis in ancient Egypt.

Famous for the step pyramid of the first king of the Third Dynasty, Djeser. Built by Imhotep.

This pyramid considered to be the first carved stone construction in the world.

Saqqarah owes its fame to the tombs of the nobles or mastabas.

Scenes representing daily life at that time are engraved on the walls of these tombs.

Memphis

It is the oldest capital of unified Egypt.

Built by King Ménès in 3300 BC. JC, located on the left bank of the Nile.

The Memphis Museum houses the colossal statue of Ramses II.

Considered the most beautiful representation of this monarch.

Dahshur
La pyramide de Dahchour

The site of Dahshur is located about ten kilometers from Saqqarah.

It is a military zone for years, it was only opened to the public in 1996.

Two pyramids were built by King Snefrou, founder of the Fourth Dynasty and father of Cheops.

The rhomboidal pyramid and the red pyramid.

The two pyramids allow us to understand the evolution of the construction of the pyramids.
